Shine GIRL is founded upon the premise that every life has intrinsic value and fosters an awareness of this belief. As a result, girls are equipped to become more confident, confident of their self-worth and value, and able to have a brighter outlook on their future. The ShineGIRL program partners with schools and teachers to further support learning outcomes around resilience, self-esteem, confidence, leadership and health.

WORTH: ‘BODY AND SOUL, I AM WONDERFULLY MADE’
Week 1 - I am Valuable
By the end of this session, each girl will be able to:
Gain an understanding of the concept of personal worth
Identify what she personally values and why
Week 2 - I am Wonderfully Made, One-of-a-Kind
By the end of this session, each girl will be able to:
Explain her understanding of the worth concept
Identify ways to value herself.
STRENGTH: ‘CHOICES’
Week 3 – I can make empowering Choices.
By the end of this session, each girl will be able to:
Explore and understand that she is born with feelings
Demonstrate skills required to enhance the power of choice
Week 4 – My Decisions Determine my Destination.
By the end of this session, each girl will be able to:
Apply and practice decision-making and problem-solving skills
Identify ways to display respect for themselves and others
Week 5 – I have Resilience.
By the end of this session, each girl will be able to:
Recognize the value of developing resilience
PURPOSE: ‘I HAVE A HOPE AND A FUTURE’ (S 6 - 7)
Week 6 – My Potential is Limitless. My life has purpose.
By the end of this session, each girl will be able to:
Recognise the value of a positive environment for her potential to grow
Identify ways to build her confidence
Identify personal desires
Develop an understanding that she has something to contribute
Week 7 – Celebration/Graduation Event
It is a chance for the girls to come together for the last time and enjoy a special treat. They will receive their graduation certificates and a small gift.
